“This is a great card game to play with a retirement group. Play a game like Fish, and when everyone has 3 cards they like - use that for a starting point for sharing”.

“Wouldn’t it be great if creating a care plan was as easy as playing a game. Now it is. THE CARDS I'VE BEEN DEALT™ is an interactive tool which focuses on what the person is able to do as well as what they can’t. The beauty of these cards is that they are simple and complete at the same time. THE CARDS I'VE BEEN DEALT™ makes it easy to design a personalized plan that meets the patient’s needs. I highly recommend these cards for both the professional and family caregiver”.

“I was visiting my parents in Michigan over the Christmas holidays and brought THE CARDS I’VE BEEN DEALT ™ with me. My older brother and I have been trying to get my parents to finalize their will/trust/wishes but they seemed to have stalled. We both tried separately to find out what the holdup was but seemed to get a lot of excuses, which isn't like my parents at all. At first I pulled out the DAILY ACTIVITIES cards as I sat with my mother to see if it would get her talking about things. It ended up being such an "eye opening "conversation. My father overheard us and decided to join in. My dad, who doesn't have a great sense of smell anymore, discovered that my mom was starting to have the same issue which she had never mentioned to him (she wears hearing aids as well). Good information to be made aware of! What if something was burning on the stove or maybe even a gas leak, they may have a hard time detecting the dangerous fumes early enough, which could put them in harm’s way. The WISHES AND VALUES Cards also help me to figure out what seemed to be "the stall “with finalizing their legal documents. It was some family dynamic between siblings (there's 5 of us) that had my parents concerned about putting my older brother in the position of "executor". I suggested getting an outside party as executor. My father really liked that idea (so did my brother)and seemed almost relieved. I didn't get through all of the cards, but will circle back when I see them this summer. These special cards served as such a great tool to provoke meaningful conversation that did not make my parents feel threatened or put on the spot and, as a result, helped me to get some resolution. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product that serves an important purpose and provides a valuable tool for conversation with our aging loved ones.”
